Today you will be completing a couple of self portraits....with a twist. The purpose of this assignment is similar to the stick drawing exercise, and is another challenge that will help you get over your fear of not making the perfect drawing.
The Instructions for the first drawing are below. You will find mirrors in the drawer in the back corner of the large studio. Use a 2B pencil and try to fill the page in your sketchbook. Remember to include your neck and shoulders, and pay careful attention to highlights and shadows, as this will give your portrait greater depth. If you finish the wrong-handed portrait, try another portrait on a new page using two coloured prismacolour pencil crayons taped together. Have fun with these drawings!! Your work may surprise you!
